Sleep Disorders: My Personal experience
I want to share my personal story in order to try my best to help people in my same situation. There’s no shame about it and I think everyone should read this, even people who sleeps like babies because all of us can face this problem at least once in a lifetime.
- First and foremost, Track your sleep data.
For a restoring and regenerating rest is important for an average person to have at least 4/5 deep sleep cycles per night. Total time is also important too but it’s different for everyone, there are people who sleeps 8/10 hours per night but I find that 6 hours is more than enough for my body to recover and recharge. In my personal experience I’ve found that the “Polar Ignite” (link in my profile) is one of the best tool because it either track sleep time but also deep cycles, rem sleep and light sleep plus some other cool stuff such as breathing rate. So as long as you sleep deep your body can have a fully and satisfying recovery.. and for me, since I’m not sleeping that much I have max 3/4 cycle per night.
Unfortunately I had this period two month ago where I had big sleeping problems every night, go to sleep as usual 10/11PM but woke up exactly at 3.00/3.30am with no chance to sleep anymore.. then I have to wake up because I feel my body and mind awake, stay on the pc and then suddenly I felt asleep again going to sleep at 5.30am and wake up at 7.30am with the result that I feel drowsy and out of focus the rest of the day.
- Choose the right supplements:
Now, if I take melatonin before going to bed I get my body in the situation where is not producing anymore and if I stop taking it I will produce even less, so what I have to do is stimulate by body to create this hormone by his own, and I found that the amino acid 5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) increase the production of serotonin, and this hormone helps to produce more melatonin naturally, bingo!
Plus I take Ashwagandha(Indian ginseng) , is an “adaptogen”, meaning that it help your body to manage stress but it takes time before its effects become visible so you need to be patience about it.. also, it lowers blood sugar level, reduce cortisol, boost brain function and helps fight symptoms of anxiety and depression. With this combo plus some special thing like listening to “white noise” music and “serene” breathing exercise on my Polar Ignite I can finally say that I’m on the way to have my 3/4 deep cycles again.
So, now I’m happy to share my story and I hope it helped those of you who suffers.
Good night and sleep tight! 😴 💤
- Disclaimer OF COURSE before buying supplements consult your doctor because everyone is a different story..
